Dr. Alysa Nguyen is a California licensed Naturopathic doctor and Chinese medicine practitioner practicing in the county of San Diego. She earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, the leading accredited academic and research center in natural medicine. She acquired further training working in internal medicine, gynecology, and traumatology at the Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in China. Dr. Nguyen did her residency in Naturopathic medicine in Hawaii specializing in women's health, and from there obtained further training in using bioidentical hormones. She has extensive training in German biological medicine and Functional medicine that she integrates with her Naturopathic and Chinese medicine training to help support the body and correct imbalances. All of these systems of medicine allows Dr. Nguyen to address the underlying cause of illness and individualize treatment to each person according to their unique genetic predispositions, body type, chemistry, and energy and how they respond to environmental inputs, including nutrition, air, water, stress, exercise, and trauma.

Dr. Nguyen strongly believes that health is a space of inner harmony and wellness when we feel well in our body, mind, and spirit. It is through instilling healthy lifestyle practices and a greater awareness of the factors that influence our health and the environment we live in, that we can take action and create optimal health for our family and ourselves. Her basis of care is to always address the underlying cause of illness, while providing relief for the acute condition, educating her patients about healthy choices and encouraging them to live a balanced and vital lifestyle. She spends time with each of her patients to explore what is best for them. The therapies she uses include nutrition, herbal medicine, acupuncture, lifestyle counseling, acutonics, homeopathy, yoga, biotherapeutic drainage, flower essences, aromatherapy, detoxification, and more.
